Dr Michael F. Ward, Dean of Studies, ESC Rennes School of Business, said, “We are, needless to say, immensely proud of Taran’s achievement which, while it reflects well on our institution and its efforts to promote high quality academic research for the world of international business, is of course primarily an accolade for Taran herself – she has worked extremely hard these past four years, combining full-time teaching with her doctoral research, and fully deserves this award. ESC Rennes is very proud indeed to have Taran on its staff and believes that she will make an important contribution to research into cross-cultural management in the years to come.”

The Awards, part-funded by the Authors’ Licensing & Collecting Society Ltd (ALCS), were open to those who completed and satisfied examination requirements for a Doctoral award between 1 June 2004 and 1 June 2006, and had not previously applied for one of these Awards.

The Award winner receives a cash prize of 1,500 (or other currency equivalent), a certificate and an offer of publication in Management Decision.

Application and eligibility criteria for next year's Awards are now available on the Emerald web site (www.emeraldinsight.com/awards) and the EFMD web site (www.efmd.org).
