  • Thanks to a recent alliance between the Institute for Quality Assurance (IQA) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the UK looks set to receive world class training in Six Sigma implementation. The IQA will now provide black belt and green belt training as well as concentrated programs for upper management in a bid to ensure the type of savings that GE, Motorola and Sony have all experienced through Six Sigma.

  • "Employees don't leave companies, they leave bad managers". Ever wondered what kind of a manager you are? Well find out with a new test developed by psychtest.com. Their management style test will determine your overall style by way of 49 questions that evaluate attributes such as people orientation, focus on goals, adaptability and tolerance for change. This may not be the most accurate of examinations but as well as providing a little light entertainment, it may offer some insights into the type of manager you really are as opposed to the one you think you are.

  • With CRM fast becoming synonymous with the word quality, recent studies have revealed that more than a quarter of European companies will invest in a CRM solution this year, particularly in terms of IT. Analysts are predicting that total CRM software application revenues worldwide will rocket from $9.4 billion in 2001 to approximately $30.6 billion in 2005.

  • The ASQ has recently approved the Philip B. Crosby medal. This award will be presented in memory of the eminent quality guru to "for authoring a distinguished book contributing significantly to the extension of the philosophy and application of the principles, methods or techniques of quality management". Mr. Crosby is remembered for his innovative and tireless work in the field of quality for over 35 years. He wrote 15 books on quality and this award will focus on those who publish works in this genre.
