The National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL) has named Allan L. Weisberg to the newly created position of senior vice president of leadership and organizational effectiveness, effective June 1, 2007.

Weisberg, 55, is retiring from Johnson & Johnson where he worked for more than 30 years, holding positions of increasing responsibility within human resources at the company’s various operating divisions and corporate headquarters. Notably, from 1989 until 1994 he served as vice president of human resources and a member of the management board of Johnson & Johnson Hospital Services, and from 1994 until 2001 he was vice president and a member of the management board of Ethicon, Inc. He is credited with leading the start-up of the J&J eUniversity. Most recently he has been head of organizational capability for the company and led its successful corporate human resources integration of the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare business.

“Allan is the consummate leadership development guru, widely respected in the corporate community and throughout healthcare for helping to keep Johnson & Johnson on the cutting edge of learning and development,” NCHL President and CEO Marie E. Sinioris said. “In his new position, he will have principal accountability for the design and implementation of transformational leadership development programs, working in concert with NCHL’s educational partners. He will also work closely with healthcare systems that participate in NCHL’s Leadership Excellence Networks (LENS) to assist them with customizing and implementing leadership development programs that meet their needs. We are delighted that he will be joining us.”
