Learning at a distance

The Open Learning Unit at the Department of Information and Library Studies, University of Wales, Aberystwyth, are proud to announce the graduation of their first eight distance learning students on the professional degree programme. All have completed in the minimum time permitted of three years. Another 250 students are also already studying towards the degree; most are mature students returning to work after a break, or without traditional academic qualifications. The department is now developing distance learning courses at Master's level in Information and Library Studies, and in Knowledge Management, which should be available in 1999. More information about the courses offered to distance learners is available from the Unit on telephone 01970 622158/9.
