This is another book about Bletchley Park, UK the Centre for secret codebreaking activities in Second World War, and in particular during the years 1943-1945. Professor Asa Briggs is well-known and this book is a fine addition to those already in the public domain.
These are personal memories of Professor Briggs and do not contain descriptions of the world-famous code-breaking machines that heralded the subsequent development of computers. It is more about people than technical devices and perhaps for that reason it will attract readers who want to know more about those who developed the facility and the way in which they worked and socialized.
