Progress in organisational cybernetics

Article Type: Preface From: Kybernetes, Volume 40, Issue 3/4

This is the second Special Double issue published to mark the 40th Anniversary of Kybernetes.

We are very grateful to Professor Raul Espejo for accepting the invitation of the Publishers, the Editorial Advisory Board and the journal’s Editors to be the Guest Editor of issues devoted to the theme of organisational cybernetics. Professor Espejo is already well known for his research and extensive publications in this field and we are fortunate to have his expertise directed to assessing the progress that is being made in organisational cybernetics at the present time.

In all his endeavours, our Guest Editor brings what so many academic researchers fail to offer, his first-hand experience obtained in the companies that he has worked with in a wide range of organisations worldwide. Currently, he is a Director of the World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics and also of Syncho Ltd, his many academic appointments have included professorial appointments in the UK and also at the Universidad de Santiago, Chile.

We would wish to thank him and his co-peer reviewers for their unstinting efforts to produce this compilation, and also the contributing authors, several with close links to South America, for their inspiring and stimulating papers.

As is our practice, we have also included regular journal sections.
