The publishers claim that this book is written by two of the best-known experts in the field. They also believe that the book is “the only thoroughly comprehensive” text on the subject currently available. It is certainly well planned and provides an introduction to cluster analysis. At the very beginning the book the authors get readers familiar with classification and with clustering; definitions of clusters; clustering application and the literature of clustering algorithms.

Examples are given throughout to explain and illustrate the theme and references are provided.
