New concepts are introduced and discussed by the author. It is claimed to be an extensive overview completed in 11 chapters with conclusions and occasionally a summary. Although perhaps designed more for the reader of philosophy, it will also attract cyberneticians and systemists. In addition to those involved in research activities in this area, we are told it will be of interest to others from many other fields. It is suggested that scientists, many of whom are avid readers of philosophic texts would benefit from reading its well-structured contents.
