Cybernetics and Systems theory

Professor D. Dutta Majumder reports that the Co-ordination Committee (PCC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Government of India supports "Cybernetics and Systems Theory" and considers it to be "a trust area for research". We are informed that a National International Workshop on this topic is being planned for the late 2003 and an International conference on "Recent Trends and New Directions of Research in Cybernetics and Systems Theory" organized in January 2004 at an Institute in Eastern India.

Professor Majumder, who is a Director of the World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics (WOSC) and a distinguished contributor to this journal has been appointed as the advisor to the government's endeavour. An International Advisory Committee has been formed and Professors Rose, Vallée and Rudall have been invited to be members, together with other scientists.

A cybernetic and systems paper "Complexity Analysis, unestimity Management and Fuzzy Dynamical Systems: A Cybernetic Approach with some Case Studies" on this theme by Professor Dutta Mujumder and Dr Kaushik Kumar Mujumder will be published in this journal in our Vol. 33, 2004.
