Sociocybernetics – Employment in Europe
Employment Week, Europe's top event for tackling issues on employment, economic development, training policy and application within the European Union (EU) takes place on 19th to 21st November 2002 at the Brussels Expo.
This year, Employment Week will be the largest conference and exhibition in the event's 10-year history. Employment Week is the premier forum for discussion on all issues relating to employment throughout Europe. This includes employment creation, equality in the work place, national and political barriers, assistance for disabled people, and the movement of the labour market within the EU.
There is expected to be a rise in the number of regions taking part in Employment Week from across the European community, particularly from Eastern Europe. The number of issues tackled during the conference is expected to increase due to the greater number of organisations who have indicated they will be participating.
Previously, the Employment Week conference and exhibition has annually attracted more than 1500 participants from 30 countries and from over 150 exhibiting organisations, including:
- •
National, regional and local government representatives involved in employment, training and economic development
- •
Voluntary and third sector employment, training and economic development agencies
- •
Private sector firms and representative organisations
- •
Trades unions and representative organisations
- •
Academics
- •
Policy and research organisations
- •
European networks and agencies involved in employment
- •
Economic and employment development agencies and consultants
- •
Enterprise and training organisations
The agenda, main themes and speakers at the conference will be announced in March.
Employment Week is organised by Tarsus Touchstone, part of the Tarsus Group plc, the international, integrated media group with interests in exhibitions, publishing and the Internet. It is planned in co-operation with the Directorate General for Employment and Social Affairs, European Commission.
