It is aimed at anyone who administers information providers or runs a network. It is mainly concerned with computer and communications security. An introduction is provided for the Internet and TCP/IP. The specific types of attack are discussed with examples of the counter measures given. External network threats and vulnerabilities are considered. Problems of particular systems are detailed for the Microsoft, Unix, Apple Macintosh and Novell types of systems.
