Selection of contributions from the 15th Congress of Cybernetics held at Namur, Belgium, 1998.
Chairman's Address on "Whither cybernetics?", Dr Brian Warburton (UK).
"Cybernetics: the mind and memory with ageing",Dr P.R. Wilson, formerly of Severills Hospital, Colchester, Essex, UK.
"The implications for cybernetics of the discontinuity between information and imparity",Dr D.J. Stewart (formerly of Brunel University, UK).
"Information technology and the evolution of perception", Dr Elin Whitney-Smith (USA).
"Prospects for machine consciousness", Mr Martin Smith (University of East London, UK).
"Problems encountered in consciousness studies", Mr Peter Hardwick, (King's College, London, UK).
Short discussions were arranged after the presentations and finally Dr D.J. Stewart chaired a "General discussion of all presentations".
