Appointment of director of academic affairs

The Director-General of WOSC, Professor Robert Vallée has announced that Professor Raúl Espejo, who is the Director of the Centre for Systems Research at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside, UK, has been appointed to the Directorate of the World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics. He takes over the important role of Director of Academic Affairs. Professor Espejo has already been honoured when the prestigious award of an honorary fellowship of WOSC was conferred on him at a reception in London in April 1997.

WOSC triennial World Congress

Arrangements are in hand for the next WOSC World Congress. The last being the successful event in Bucharest, Romania, in 1996. Members of the organisations affiliated to WOSC are invited to contact the WOSC secretariat or any directors of the organisations about sponsorship or participation matters. The venue is yet to be finalised at present.

WOSC supported congresses, conferences and events

Federated member organisations of WOSC are reminded of the many congresses, conferences and meetings that are supported by the organisation. Details are given in the appropriate sections of this journal the official publication of WOSC. Many of these supported events require the full support of cyberneticians and systemists if they are to continue to give the essential forum required by these inter- and transdisciplinary fields.
