Article Type: Editorial From: Journal of Workplace Learning, Volume 21, Issue 8

Welcome to the final issue of 2009 which is a standard issue of Journal of Workplace Learning. We have, as usual, four scientific double blind peer reviewed articles: “Learning climate and work group skills in care work”, by Kristina Westerberg and Esther Hauer; “Social interaction and the formation of entrepreneurial characteristics: a case study in authentic enterprise activity” by Christina W.M. Yu and Thomas W.Y. Man; “Exploring the best HRM practices – performance relationship: an empirical approach”, by George N. Theriou and Prodromos D. Chatzoglou, and finally “Intersection of trajectories: a newcomer in a community of practice” by Matthew Campbell and colleagues.

The fifth article, “Internet gambling in the workplace”, by Mark Griffiths is published under the heading “Professional practice”. As a reminder we aim to publish between four and six articles annually without a double-blind review which we consider to be relevant and timely for workplace learning practitioners and inspirational for researchers. (We do not publish consultant companies’ stories about their brave deeds however, these are welcome if based on real scientifically-sound research and are free of company names.)

Article manuscript submissions are welcome even during our vacation (and when you read this, the Christmas/New Year holiday season is probably approaching, so the situation is the same). Please note that we now encourage submissions via the journal’s Manuscript Central site where we can keep better track on the status of papers and compile issues to emerging themes. So, open http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jwl and report your research results with us!

We wish you an interesting time reading the articles in this issue.
