Conference call for papers from Journal of Human Resource Costing & Accounting14-15 April 2011, Edinburgh

In conjunction with the Emerald Publishing Group, the School of Management and Languages at Heriot-Watt University is hosting a conference in Edinburgh in support of the Journal of Human Resource Costing & Accounting.

Submissions are requested on the broad topic of “accounting for people” from scholars working in a wide range of management functions including accounting, finance, human resource management, knowledge management, strategy, organisation behaviour and organisation studies, as well as from practitioners working in this field. Contributions with a theoretical orientation and/or a critical perspective are particularly encouraged. Details of the evolving scope and agenda of the Journal of Human Resource Costing & Accounting can be found in the “Editorial in Volume 12, Issue 3 in 2008”.

Submission details

Submissions must be in English, the language of the conference, and e-mailed to the Editor, Professor Robin Roslender at R.Roslender@hw.ac.uk, before the 30 November 2010. This is to provide the opportunity for initial review by members of the Editorial Board. The intention is to ensure a relatively speedy publication process for conference participants, following a further review exercise. Initial expressions of interest or related enquiries are encouraged.

Conference location

The venue for this event is in the heart of the city of Edinburgh, in its historic Grassmarket, which is overlooked by its famous castle. Many of the city’s most famous buildings are within walking distance, together with its shopping district. At this time, the intention is to stage the event in a popular four-star hotel, with whom an attractive financial package has been agreed.

Further information will be provided in the coming months.
