Lar Mathiassen is GRA Emminent Scholar at the eCommerce Institute and the Computer Information Systems Department at Georgia State University in the USA. His research interests include software engineering and management, organizational use of IT, and the philosophy of computing. Most of his research has been carried out in close collaboration with IT-professionals, he has published extensively in leading academic and practitioner journals, and he has co-authored several books including Professional Systems Development (Prentice-Hall), Computers in Context (Blackwell), and Improving Software Organizations (Addison-Wesley). His view on software engineering and management is developed in Reflective Systems Development.
