Title: Modular painting apparatusApplicant: Fanuc Robotics America, Inc (US)Patent number: CA2503485Publication date: 6 May 2004

Keywords: Robotics, Patents, Spraying, Painting

An apparatus for processing objects includes an elevated tubular frame rail mounting a four axis robot arm with a tool such as a painting applicator. The robot is attached to a mounting base that moves along the rail permitting painting of the top and/or side of a vehicle body. Electrical power and fluid lines can be routed through the rail to the robot. Two such rails and multiple robots can be combined as a module for installation in a new or an existing painting booth.

Title: Production line for painting or lacquering car bodies and doors has broad conveyer belt carrying car bodies and has robots beside line loading doors into pockets in front of each bodyApplicant: Brose Fahrzeugteile (DE)Patent number: DE10346382Publication date: 23 June 2005

The production line has a broad conveyer belt carrying car bodies. Each body passes through a painting station for coating with lacquer and is moved onward to an end station. Each body is accommodated in a cell with pockets for door components behind each body, and shelves for equipment in front of each body. Industrial robots beside the line unload the doors from the pockets and install them in the door openings of each body.

Title: Painting apparatusApplicant: ABB ABPatent number: JP2005040791Publication date: 17 February 2005

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a painting apparatus for a large object, using a small number of stationary painting robots, needing only a small paint booth, and having a high production capacity per painting robot. SOLUTION: The painting apparatus comprises the paint booth surrounded by walls, and robot facilities having a plurality of the painting robots. Each painting robot has a base, a stand rotatably supported by the base around a first axis, a first arm rotatably supported by the stand around a second axis, a second arm rotatably supported by the first arm around a third axis, and a fourth, fifth, and sixth arm for determining the direction of a painting tool which is supported by and fixed to the second arm.

Title: Compact robotic painting boothApplicant: Fanuc Robotics America, Inc (US); Scott J Clifford (US); Bartlett S Donald (US); Cipioli D Paul (US); Kowalski M James (US); McClosky H stan; Jerue A Roy (US); Gora Marcin (US); Rola D Martin (US); Gerds B James II (US); Lupcho Najdovski (US); Otani M Ernest (US); Reinicke John (US)Patent number: WO2005046880Publication date: 26 May 2005

A system for painting an article, such as an automotive vehicle body, includes a painting booth, a conveyor for transporting articles through the painting booth, a first rail located beside and extending along the conveyor, a second rail located beside and extending along the conveyor at a lower elevation than an elevation of the first rail, a painting robot including an articulating arm (40) mounted on the first rail for displacement along the first rail, a panel opener robot mounted on the second rail for displacement along the second rail such that the painting robot and panel opener robot can move past each other on the rails without interference, a paint applicator carried by the painting robot, and a paint material system for supplying paint to the applicator.

Title: Visual presentation creation method in, e.g. sports field, involves propelling robot along trajectory on surface for painting visual representation on surfaceApplicant: EVENZO AB (SE)Patent number: SE525702Publication date: 5 April 2005

A mobile robot is propelled along a specific trajectory on the surface for painting the required visual representation on the surface. Independent claims are also included for the following: system for creating visual presentation; computer-readable recorded medium storing program for creating visual presentation; and use of mobile robot as free-roaming marking device for creating the visual presentation.
