This forms part of the Faculty of Agriculture Website at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. Projects currently being researched include: mobile robots, precision farming, bioenergy utilisation and man-machine interfaces. Their work on mobile robots includes task planning and co-operative work of multi-mobile robots; agricultural mobile robot based on a sensor-fusion integration; vehicle navigation using an RTK-GPS and an intelligent mobile robot. Two autonomous tractors have been developed so far, POCHI and TAMA.

The Laboratory of Agricultural Systems Engineering aims to construct new bio-production systems by the use of high technologies, including robotics and machine vision. Work has been carried out on a tomato and cherry tomato harvesting robot, a cucumber harvesting robot, strawberry harvesting robots, multi-operation robot for grapevines, safety system for agricultural robots, a Chrysanthemum cutting sticking robot, weed detection, a plant diagnosis system, and quality evaluation for agricultural products. This site is quite small but contains some nice pictures.

Since Robot Coupe is a manufacturer and supplier of a full line of food processors and other units for food service preparation, it therefore has nothing to do with robotics in the food industry.

It designs, engineers and manufactures innovative robots and robotic systems to improve the bottom line for our customers. The company also produces software, controls and vision products that aid in the development of state-of-the-art robotic systems. The site contains information about the company, its products, solutions, customers, resource centre, training, news and career vacancies. This is a very good site in which products can be easily searched for.
The Tele-Garden is a telerobotic installation that allows WWW users to remotely view and tend a living garden. The garden officially opened in mid-August 1995 at the University of Southern California. Users participate in tending a living garden using a remote industrial robot to perform simple requests such as watering, planting and viewing the garden. The entire garden can be remotely explored simply using clicks of the mouse.
A very good site which is well worth the visit.
