Pullmax Limited, one of the UK's leading suppliers of CNC metal forming equipment, has placed an order for the UK's first ABB FlexBend system, to complement its Ursviken range of press brakes.
With FlexBend ABB has developed a range of flexible robot based systems for tending press brakes, offering standard turnkey solutions to meet individual manufacturing needs. The new system is available in four configurations: the MINI BEND, MIDI BEND, SWING BEND and MAXI BEND, each designed to suit particular manufacturing situations. All offer increased productivity, consistently high quality, impressive cost effectiveness and excellent safety standards.
The FlexBend package consists of a system of standardised products, manufactured using proven components, providing low investment costs, quick set up times and maximum reliability. FlexBend is the product of ABB's long experience of sheet bending systems and its strong commitment to research and development.
Plate 1 BendWare
has been tailor-made for press brake tending-applications with robots
A dedicated software package "BendWare" had been produced to operate the range of metal bending peripheral devices and program the bending process, ensuring complete system monitoring (see Plate 1). BendWare has been tailor-made for press brake tending applications with robots. It allows new work cycles to be programmed quickly and easily, reducing set-up times. BendWare also controls the monitoring of production data, diagnoses faults and allows the operator to fine-tune the bending process.
