Leading industrial services provider, Wyko, has announced the launch of the new "Wrapflex" non-lubricated elastomer coupling, manufactured by FALK (see Plate 1). The coupling is one of the simplest and most cost-effective couplings available and comes with a groundbreaking industry first three-year heavy duty warranty.

Plate 1 The new Wrapflex coupling from Wyko

The Wrapflex couplings incorporate many new high quality features and benefits and will complement the existing high quality products available from the Wyko range. The couplings cover a torque range of 61Nm-2,500Nm in six sizes with maximum bore capacity to 100mm diameter in close coupled or full spacer versions. The high specification makes the "Wrapflex" ideal for a broad range of applications within various industries such as the rubber, paper, brewing and aggregates sectors.

Comments Colin Sykes, Wyko Industrial, "The new 'Wrapflex' combines a whole host of features designed to make it cost-effective, reliable and safe. We believe that it is one of the best on offer in the market today. The non-lubricated coupling affords low cost and low maintenance and delivers exceptional value and, with the three-year warranty, offers an exceptional value for money and reliable product".

The "Wrapflex" coupling has the benefit of the following features:

  • Low initial cost coupled with a three-year heavy duty warranty.

  • Easy to install – the compound root radius in the element teeth increases flexibility for easier and quicker assembly.

  • Replace in place – allows quick element replacement with no need to remove hubs or realign motors and drives.

  • No maintenance needed – the non-lubricated design of the flexible element minimises potential for misalignment while improving tooth-to-tooth contact for better performance.

  • Tough and long-lasting – the polyurethane element has excellent wear and chemical resistance. The hubs are made from carbon steel for maximum strength and the weather resistant high-grade nylon cover comes as standard.
