What engine oil should I use in my car?

What engine oil should I use in my car?

All our friends in the lubricant marketing companies will recognise that most motorists have little idea about the quality of oil required for their car or indeed the meaning of the technical wording on the oil can.

The British Lubricants Federation (BLF) has demonstrated an interesting initiative in the UK. To try to overcome the widespread lack of product knowledge the BLF has produced a pocket-sized fact sheet providing the user with all the information required to enable the correct specification of oil to be chosen. The fact sheet is available from all BLF member companies and this effectively means all lubricant marketers in the UK.

The initiative has been reported on favourably by the local press throughout the country and may well be an idea that could have applications in other parts of the world.
