Hydrotechnik is now offering the Schroeder range of Best Fit filter elements (Plate 1). The filters, manufactured in the USA, feature a multiple-layer construction, providing superior particle capture and maximum dirt-holding capacity. This higher dirt-holding capacity increases the time intervals between necessary changes, saving money on maintenance costs. Extra strength is also engineered into every Schroeder element, then fatigue tested for structural integrity. There are high-crush strength versions available for 3,000 and 5,000psi applications.

Another feature claimed by Schroeder is that despite holding more dirt, the filters can still handle high flow rates with minimal pressure drop, essential on high-pressure machinery.
The Best Fit range is said to be the most cost-efficient replacement filter on the UK market. In addition to offering extended intervals between changes, the price is up to 60 per cent less than comparable filter brands.
