UK academics and librarians disagree over open access publishing

As always Richard Poynder has interesting things to say or, as in this case, spots what is interesting said by others.On 21 April, the UK Parliament’s Science and Technology Select Committee held the third evidence session in its enquiry into the pricing and availability of scientific publications. Having heard testimony from publishers, British politicians now wanted to hear the views of librarians and academics. As it turned out, the librarians and academics disagreed with one another.
