The 7th International Conference on Interlending and Document Supply took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 1-5 October 2001 and attracted 143 participants from 31 countries. The theme was Providing Access through Co-operation and included the following sessions:

Looking to the future.

Unmediated ILL.
- •
ILL in new and emerging democracies.
- •
Monographs.
- •
Projects.
- •
Practical issues.
- •
National systems.
- •
Consortia.
In addition to the sessions there was a panel debate between librarians and publishers and several workshops were also held. Speakers came from 16 different countries, making it a truly international conference. The quality of the programme, coupled with the excellent social occasions, made it a very successful event.
Two of the papers are included in this issue of the journal and further papers will be considered for publication in future issues. The full proceedings of the Conference will be published by the IFLA Office for International Lending and will be available early in 2002.
