Finnish libraries on the Web

Finnish libraries on the Web

The following site may be of interest to readers requiring Finnish information – http://www.publiclibraries.fi is a gateway to the networked services of Finnish Public Libraries. On this site it is possible to find all Public Libraries in Finland, search their online catalogues, search for staff by name or region. The site offers knowledge about the Finnish Library System and help to find information about Finland. Reference questions concerning Finland may also be sent to a librarian over the Internet. In addition the Words' era database contains information about Finnish modern authors and their production. The database gives text samples, a biography, list of works and sources about each author, including in some cases a few words written by the authors about themselves and their special interests. Words' era also offers links to other sites on Finnish authors.
