The State Public Scientific Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk is using the Internet to assist researchers in obtaining electronic copies of scientific literature. Their first partner was the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences in Moscow and this partnership allowed users to obtain electronic documents from another source other than their own library. To widen the availability of information sources even further the leading Russian libraries formed EDISA (Electronic Document and Information Supply Association), which was formed to unite the resources of all the participating libraries and make them accessible world-wide. The Siberian library is one of the partners of this association.
