The Norwegian Union Catalogue constitutes a co-operation between about 400 Norwegian libraries of all kinds. The Union Catalogue is divided into separate catalogues for monographs, serials and music scores.

The Norwegian Union Catalogue of Monographs (SAMBOK) has about 2,800,000 bibliographic records of Norwegian and foreign monographs with holdings information related to 7,000,000 copies. This catalogue is available online and offers facilities for interlibrary loan and document delivery. It is also available on two annually updated CD-ROMs.

There are 100,000 serial titles with holdings information in the Norwegian Union Catalogue of Serials (SAMPER). The catalogue is available in a microfiche edition which is updated twice a year and in electronic form online, from which copies of articles can be ordered. The other serials catalogue available is the Nordic Catalogue of Serials (NOSP) which is a co-operation between the five Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The catalogue, which covers 140,000 titles, is searchable through its online service and is also available in a microfiche edition.

The Norwegian Union Catalogue of Printed Music (SAMMUS) contains about 60,000 bibliographic records with holdings information from Norwegian libraries. It is also fully available in electronic form through an online service.
