ATLA to Digitise Serials

Keywords Serials, Religion

The American Theological Library Association (ATLA) have announced that they are to digitise fifty journals in religious and theological studies. The new initiative is ATLAS (ATLA Serials: Fifty Years of Fifty Journals).

ATLAS will be funded by a three-year grant from the Lilly Foundation of $3,945,262. This will be the Association's first full-text journal project and it will be working with a variety of publishing partners, scholarly societies and an independent advisory board of theological and religious scholars.

The ATLAS project will provide electronic text of entire runs of journals. It will establish a link between ATLA's index, which has more than 1,000,000 records, and the full-text electronic copies of its journals.
