The Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA formerly NZLIA) National Conference will be held at the Auckland Town Hall and Ellerslie Convention Centre, Auckland, New Zealand on 9-12 November 1999.

The theme for the conference is ''Capturing knowledge for the future -- Ka Pu Te Ruha Ka Hao Te Rangatahi''. There are also two sub-themes: information literacy, language and learning; and balancing, the global balancing act.

Abstracts for papers are invited on any area which relates to the overall theme and its related sub-themes. Abstract submissions on recent initiatives and research projects are also welcomed. Abstracts may be submitted by mail, e-mail or via the Web site: http://www.auckland.ac.nz/lbr/conf99/home.htm.
