Bedford College – stepping up to sustainability (SuS)

Article Type: News From: International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, Volume 12, Issue 4

Bedford College, UK, is developing nine sets of learning resources to help embed sustainability into the curriculum. The SuS project aims to:

  • develop a comprehensive set of interactive learning resources linking sustainable development to a wide range of vocational disciplines;

  • showcase learner engagement in supporting local climate change action; and

  • focus on developing sustainable communities, including environmental, economic and social considerations.

Project funding from LSIS is being shared amongst the curriculum areas within the college to enable them to develop these resources with the college’s art and design team engaging students in the design, drawings, illustrations and other related activities for each of the nine projects. Once completed, the resources will be made available for use by all organisations in the learning and skills sector.
