UC adopts landmark green building policy and clean energy standard

Establishing one of the first policies of its kind in the USA, the University of California Board of Regents approved a university-wide policy for the design of “green” buildings and a standard for the use of “clean” energy on July 17, 2003. The policy creates a framework for UC to improve its energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Draft recommendations on how UC could implement the standards outlined in the regents’ policy is available in a fact sheet at: www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/greenbuildings.pdf
