Once, many organisations had an in-house medial service complete with “proper” doctor. This was part of a paternalistic approach to management. Then efficiency drives drove out “unnecessary” costs and such “nice-to-haves” had to go.
Now, it seems that many corporations are realising that health and well-being at work is a key factor in determining performance and productivity levels … and company health services are being looked upon as good, positive investments.
