Culturally different
I have recently started using a Webcam to make video calls. The technology works quite well and it certainly offers a new “dimension” to a long distance conversation. But it also makes one think and act differently and it takes a bit of getting used to. There appears to be different culture and a different set of conventions employed as compared to making a simple telephone call. Perhaps I need to read (or perhaps even write) a guide to videocall etiquette. (Does one finish with a simple “Goodbye”, a smile or a cheery wave?)
