The happy projects’11 conference: “Projects & Corporate Social Responsibility ” took place in Vienna from May 12 to 13, 2011. This conference is Austria’s largest international conference on PM and offers a huge variety of presentations, panel discussions and different streams for practitioners as well as students and academics. One part of the happy projects’11 conference is the international student paper award for master and PhD students. For more information about the conference and the award please contact: claudia.weninger@wu.ac.at or visit the homepage: www.happyprojects.at

EURAM 2011 was held 1-4 June in the beautiful medieval city of Tallinn, Estonia. Readers interested in this conference that spans many areas of management with a special track in PM should keep abreast of forthcoming events through the EURAM web site: www.euram2011.org/r/default.asp?iId=EJKMHG

The “Making Projects Critical” 6th International Workshop on Critical Studies of Project Based Work, PM and the projectification of society and life at large was held in January 21 and 22, 2011, Bristol, UK. A key concern of this workshop is to employ critical perspectives to analyse and evaluate the practice of PM and decision making as evidenced in the approval, governance and control of project work and project workers. While the abstracts deadline would be missed by the time this journal is available, readers could contact Dr Svetlana Cicmil at: svetlana.cicmil@uwe.ac.uk or check the BBS web site: www.uwe.ac.uk/ for news about future workshops.
