At present we are experiencing an “information revolution” and this book is a well‐referenced and valuable resource for those concerned with the management of information at university level. It will be especially valuable to those students following administration and management courses. The collection of papers by international specialists confronts the controversial social, political, and ethical questions raised by the explosion of information in relation to the spread of information technology. Most books dealing with these issues (of which too many of are poor quality) tend to be facile in their approach, while this book challenges the reader to engage with the issues and controversies involved in the information revolution. This book is an excellent contribution to the Open University Guides to Good Practice series.
