International Journal of Commerce and Management changes publisher

Since, the last issue of the International Journal of Commerce and Management various changes have taken place. In November, the journal was acquired by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, a leading English language publisher of academic and professional literature in the fields of management. Founded in 1967, Emerald publishes over 190 journals, and supplies its international titles to university libraries and public and private sector organizations worldwide. The online Emerald collection of all current titles plus a digital archive of some 60,000 papers, is held in over 1,600 business schools and university libraries.

Emerald titles in business and management include European Journal of Marketing; Personnel Review; Management Decision; European Business Review; Journal of Organizational Change Management; Leadership & Organization Development Journal; Internet Research; International Journal of Operations & Production Management and Journal of Knowledge Management.

Emerald's philosophy of “theory and practice” should strike a chord with anyone familiar with the International Journal of Commerce and Management, and it is because of this meeting of minds that we at Emerald feel the journal will continue to grow and develop as a key resource for both management professionals and academics in the management community.

This double issue demonstrates the commitment to theory and practice, with ten very worthy papers.

Onur Arugaslan, Ed Edwards and Ajay Samant provide an evaluation of the performance of the 20 largest US-based equity funds between 1995 and 2004.

In his paper, Tarek I. Eldomiaty examines the determinants of corporate leverage in Egypt.

Pi-Chuan Sun looks at the correlations among domain knowledge specificity, joint new product development and relationship performance.

Hala Sabri's paper investigates Jordanian managers' leadership styles and compares them with managers in other organizations and cultures, such as the International Air Transport Association.

Soraya W. Assad explains how Saudi Arabia came to be a consumer society.

Mohammad Talha, Abdullah Sallehhuddin and Junaini Mohammad investigate the level of competitive disadvantage experienced by Malaysian Listed Companies.

In their paper, Syed Shah Alam, Ali Khatibi, Mohd. Ismail Sayyed Ahmed and Hishamuddin Bin Ismail examine the factors influencing internet-based e-Commerce in the electronic manufacturing companies in Malaysia.

Dilip Roy and Saikat Banerjee propose a strategy for integrating brand identity with brand image.

Akash Dania and John E. Spillan's paper examines the international currency reserves in emerging market economies and asks if India has enough.

Finally, Bikram Chatterjee investigates whether the “financial highlights” section of annual reports of a sample of Indian companies satisfy the information requirements of investors.

I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new publisher for the International Journal of Commerce and Management and say how much I am looking forward to working with you in the future.
