6th International Green Energy Conference (IGEC-VI)

5-9 June, Eskisehir, Turkey

The 6th International Green Energy Conference (IGEC-VI) will be held in Eskisehir, Turkey, on 5-9 June 2011. The depletion of fossil fuel and concerns on global warming has increased the interest on alternative fuel and energy systems. In this regard, switching from fossil fuel to alternative energy sources such as biomass, geothermal, solar, wind, tides and hydrogen; and utilize these energy sources in energy-efficient systems have become crucial. These systems have already started to replace with conventional systems in all kind of applications from portable power to stationary heating, cooling and power generation. As we are in an era in which there is a continuous progress in green energy sources and technologies, the organizers invite researchers, scientists, engineers, practitioners, policy makers and students to this international conference to exchange information, present new technologies and developments and discuss the future direction, strategies and priorities in the field of green energy.

IGEC-VI will include several keynote presentations, specialized sessions and oral and poster presentation sessions from the participants on different subjects related to green energy. An exhibition in which the industrial companies and research centers will be able to introduce their latest products on green energy, is also planned. Global Conference on Global Warming – Special Session on “Networking and Technology Transfer on Climate Change and Renewable Energy”

11-14 July, Lisbon, Portugal

The Global Conference on Global Warming will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 11-14 July 2011. The primary themes of the conference are global warming and climate change, not only in engineering and science but also in all other disciplines (e.g. ecology, education, social sciences, economics, management, political sciences and information technology). It covers a broad range of topics on energy and environment policies, energy resources, energy conversion technologies, energy management and conservation, energy security, renewables, green technologies, emission reduction and abatement, carbon tax, sustainable development, pollution control and measures, policy development, etc.

In the context of the conference, a special session on “Networking and Technology Transfer on Climate Change and Renewable Energy”, convened by the International Climate Change Information Programme will be held. This specialized session seeks contributions on all aspects of technology transfer on climate change and renewable energy, especially the ones which:

  • introduce initiatives in the context of which principles of technology transfer may be implemented into practice, in the field of renewable energy and climate change;

  • provide examples of projects which demonstrate the use of renewable energy in reducing dependency on fossil fuels in small countries and on island states; and

  • highlight the connections between renewable energy and climate change, and the role of technology transfer in this process.

Participants and experiences from developing countries are especially welcome. Further details are available at: www.gcgw.org/gcgw11/index.php?conference=gcgw&schedConf=gcgw11

Climate 2011 – The 3rd Online Climate Conference Online

7-12 November

The 4th online conference CLIMATE 2011/KLIMA 2011, which draws from the success of the previous online climate conferences (Climate 2008, Climate 2009 and Climate 2010), has the focus on “Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management”. It will fill in a perceived gap on a truly global platform to discuss this matter, as well as emerging issues related to climate variation, climate change and disaster management. It will also introduce a variety of concrete projects, initiatives and strategies current being undertaken and implemented in the five continents, in order to better integrate climate change impacts to the disaster risk management sector.

The event will have two tracks: one in English and one in the German language. Over the course of the event, interested participants can read the papers, exchange ideas with the authors and participant experts and browse through further background information on specific aspects of climate change and disaster management. International Conference on Sustainable Development 2011

5-7 December, Palm Garden Hotel, IOI Resort, Putrajaya, Malaysia

The International Conference on Sustainable Development is jointly presented by the Ontario International Development Agency (OIDA) and the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Law (ICIRL) at Laurentian University in Canada. OIDA and ICIRL will connect with host country partners as a knowledge hub to organize the event.

The conference is providing an inter-disciplinary forum on global sustainable development for practitioners and academics. The conference is serving as a forum to foster dialogue among various stakeholders, including senior level policy makers, academics and practitioners. The conference also proposes multidisciplinary strategies for economic, socio-political, cultural and institutional changes. The conference aims to exchange and share all stakeholders’ experiences and research results about all aspects of sustainable human and social development, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. This congress provides opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and apply experiences face-to-face, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration. The conference consists of four sessions:,

  1. 1.

International Conference on Sustainable Social and Human Development.

  2. 2.

International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities.

  3. 3.

International Conference on Human Rights and Good Governance.

  4. 4.
