Call for papers

Article Type: Call for papers From: Climate Change Strategies and Management, Volume 2, Issue 3

In the history of science there have been only a few issues which have mobilized the attention of scientists and policy-makers alike to the extent of the current issue of climate change. The release of the4th Assessment produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the summer of 2007, for example, has put the reality of human-induced global warming beyond any doubt.

Although the subject-matter of climate change is regarded as a critical issue and sound scientific knowledge is needed in order to address the problem in a holistic way, there is a paucity of academic, peer- reviewed publications specifically focusing on the management aspects of climate change or on approaches, methods, strategies, and other types of action needed in order to cope with the challenge of climate change. It is on the basis of this perceived need that the International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management (IJCCSM) has been created.

IJCCSM, which is published by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, reports on climate change programmes, strategies and action plans. It disseminates case studies, projects and programmes with consideration of market opportunities, cost savings and the increased value of climate mitigation and adaptation measures.

Furthermore, the journal also focuses on disseminating experiences and fostering information exchange with respect to pilot projects in areas such as climate change and CO2 emissions, the contributionof industry to global warming, the impact of transport on the climate, the influence of legislation and appraisals of the impact of regulations, as well as the links between climate change and disaster management.

The journal is supported by a prestigious Editorial Advisory Board with over 20 members representing academia, research institutes, industry, well-established NGOs and government agencies. The Editorial Board contains members from various parts of the world, thus providing a sound geographical balance.
