Article Type: Notes and news From: Industrial and Commercial Training, Volume 43, Issue 3

UK property and commercial broker Barbon Insurance Group held an award ceremony for 15 employees who successfully completed its 18-month management programme, leading to the Chartered Management Institute diploma in management.

Barbon chief executive Martin Oliver said: “They are our leaders of the future and I have no doubt that each graduate will go on to achieve great success and have a positive impact on the group, as well as the insurance industry in general.”

Each of the 15 candidates won a level 3 diploma in first-line management and level 5 certificate in management and leadership.

As part of the programme, the 15 attended 12 courses on a range of topics from leadership to managing stakeholder needs and completed six assignments as well as a management project. They also attended a module on presentation skills, which helped with their end-of-year presentations to the business.

Barbon is wholly owned, through Caley Limited, by HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group. Barbon’s brands include Keelan Westall, Cadogan Keelan Westall, Deacon, Zennor, Cadogan Hanover Park (SaifInsure, TruckInsure, Plastech, Performance Media and CareAssured), HomeLet, Letsure, BIBALet and Farr.
