"How training can add real value to the business: part 1 and 2"

which appeared in Industrial and Commercial Training, Vol. 35 No. 1, 2003

Dr Richard Hale is a specialist in the field of work-based action learning and heads Value Projects Ltd, an organisation which supports organisations with action learning-based programmes. Recent projects in this field include establishing major senior leadership development programmes with HBOS Financial Services and Lloyds TSB. He has pioneered the development of the action learning/ leadership question methodology and has established accreditation arrangements with universities, enabling managers to gain qualifications to Masters and Doctoral levels through their work-based programmes. Richard's early career was with GEC Marconi and BSkyB and subsequently consulting internationally. He is the author of several books in the field of management development including Impact and Influence. His doctoral research studied the impact of mentoring on learning for individuals and organisations.
