The International Conference Berlin 2000, organized by the Bundesanstalt fÏr Arbeit and the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance with the participation of the Bundesinstitut fÏr Berufsbildung, will be entitled "Guidance for Education, Careers, and Employment - New Challenges". It will be held from 30 August to 1 September 2000 in Berlin and will reflect the importance of changes that have occurred in the economy, technology and society, as well as the transformation of education, vocational training and the world of work in a lifelong learning process.

The conference will be divided into three main topics:

  1. 1.

    the future of work and the changes in working structures;

  2. 2.

    qualification requirements and individual career development;

  3. 3.

    vocational guidance and counselling - new needs and new trends.

The conference languages will be German, English and French. If there is a sufficient number of participants, Spanish will be offered as a working language in some workshops.
