High-flying recruitment professionals going through a newly upgraded fast-track recruitment qualification have given it resounding approval.

The Institute of Employment Consultants (IEC) has launched its fast-track Foundation Vocational Award for Employment Agency Practice. The Award, which was previously offered only as a distance learning course which the candidate completed at their own pace over six months, can now be taken as a highly intensive three-day programme.

The Award is unique to the recruitment industry in that the IEC is the only nationally recognized educational body which can award this specialist professional qualification.

More than 1,600 people achieve the Foundation qualification every year with 700 gaining the Award through the Accredited Training Schemes, which benchmark, validate and audit the company's internal systems against the IEC's Foundation syllabus. The IEC expects these numbers to swell with the provision of the fast-track option.

The IEC's Chief Executive, Susan Smith FECI, says: "Studying for a professional qualification enables recruiters to provide a high-quality service which meets industry standards and legal requirements. In launching the fast-track option, we have made education for the sector even more accessible. The qualification underpins our corporate aims of raising ethical and professional standards in the recruitment industry through appropriate and focused educational programmes."
