2002 Electromagnetic Environments and Health in Buildings Conference

16-17 May

The effects of electromagnetic radiation fields are of great interest at present because of the increasingly large number of people using VDUs and mobile phones. This is a potentially emotive area but everyone is agreed that there need to be more research and dissemination of knowledge.

Abacus Communications, in conjunction with the University of Reading and the University of Bristol, is organising a two-day conference entitled: "Electromagnetic Environments and Health in Buildings". The conference will consider the effects of electromagnetic radiation on health, current legal and insurance implications, and will address emissions, standards and future developments.

Conference chairman, Professor Derek Clements-Croome, of the University of Reading, is a leading authority in workplace health and links between employee wellbeing and productivity. He will be joined by principal international researchers from universities, hospitals and mobile phone companies, as well as presenters from the legal and insurance professions to ensure wide-ranging viewpoints.

This conference will be important to health and safety officers, facilities managers, office service managers, IT personnel, workplace designers, researchers, and anyone who has a direct involvement or an interest in health and productivity within the workplace.

For information on the conference, please contact Jill Skinner, Abacus Communications, The Pool House, South Hill, Chislehurst, Kent BR7 5EF, UK. Tel: +44 (0) 20 8295 2951; Fax: +44 (0) 20 8467 0145; E-mail: Jill@abacuscom.co.uk; Web site: www.emr-environments.com
