BIFM, Special Interest Group keeps power up

BIFM, Special Interest Group keeps power upKeywords: Facilities management, BIFM, Information services

As part of its ongoing development, the BIFM Building Services Special Interest Group (BS SIG), which provides regular guidance notes to non-technical facilities managers, will be posting its first guidance note on the BIFM's Web site (www.bifm.co.uk). The note is currently being reviewed for publication and will provide a quick reference to key aspects of fire alarm systems.

The next note will deal with the importance to most businesses of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), providing facilities managers with a reference guide to stand-by power with additional "hints and tips" from experienced users of these systems.

BS SIG would welcome comments from those who deal with stand-by power systems. In particular, any information in which problems have arisen, help has been needed or when lessons have been learnt. Any comments and suggestions arising on this and future topics should be e-mailed to BSSIG@hotmail.com
