Chesterton launches guide for the property industry

Keywords: Information technology, Property industry, Telecommunications

Property professionals who cannot tell their Nodes from their Modems will find Chesterton International's glossary of popular terms used in the information technology and telecommunications industries to be a real boon.

Breaking the Code: Telecoms and Property is a lively and informative free guide to the meaning of more than 120 of the most frequently used terms used in the IT and telecoms industries. Produced by a Chesterton team comprising both chartered surveyors and IT experts, the guide also contains a corresponding section for the IT professional on the most oft-used property terms.

Tony Fisher, Chesterton's director of business space, says: "The massive increase in demand by the IT sector for property related services means that we have had to acquaint ourselves with a wealth of new jargon and technical terms. Correspondingly the IT sector has had to learn the language of property, hence the section aimed at enabling them to understand us more easily. Hopefully the guide will go a long way to bridging this communications gap and we welcome any suggestions for terms to be included in future editions."
