i-FM.net, the leading news and information resource for the facilities management industry, has launched an online survey which sets out to paint a realistic picture of what today's FM job comprises of – and how much he or she is worth in this rapidly changing market. The survey will help to provide a much fuller picture of the roles, responsibilities and remuneration today's FM can expect.

"Facilities management is a very broad field and attracts people from a wide range of backgrounds and with qualifications at every level. The bare job title 'facilities manager' covers many different roles and responsibilities", said Richard Byatt, editor of i-FM.net "Given this variety and the speed of change in the industry, it is not surprising that remuneration for FM professionals is equally diverse.

To fill this information gap, i-FM and Summit Support Services are hosting a salary survey in association with recruitment company, Metzger. This will provide invaluable benchmarks for those involved in job negotiations and HR planning.

Those who complete the online survey will have the opportunity to win a Canon Digital Ixus Camera, worth £430. By taking part, contributors will provide much needed data to establish the credibility of the FM profession as well as helping to identify the responsibilities of individuals working in it.

i-FM.net has an average of over 36,000 hits a day, and has now established itself as the definitive on-line resource for the facilities management professional.
