Web site keeps business in touch with the gas market

Keywords: Internet, Gas, Pricing

BP's gas business is offering customers using its e-energytrade Web based gas trading site a new pricing and market information facility, giving business users on-line notification of market price changes.

A trigger prices feature has recently been added to the site which will give users the option of stating on a monthly basis, up to 18 months in advance, their preferred maximum purchase price and minimum selling price.

The site's current prices screen will now automatically flag any price changes which fall outside these pre-set limits, allowing gas buyers to take appropriate action.

This screen now also includes a scrolling marquee, which displays up-to-the-minute market information which supports the weekly analysis information.

In addition, the Web site will also inform customers when the market moves within range of their preferred price by sending a text message to their mobile phone or via e-mail. This service is available to customers using the site for day trading or by those simply monitoring prices for a suitable level to fix future purchases.
