FM Expo 2000, which took place at Olympia from 19-21 September, was a success for the seventh year running. With exhibitors commenting on the professional look to the event and also the quality of visitors, FM Expo has again confirmed itself as the UK's leading workplace solutions event.

Visitor figures are currently being ABC audited and will be released shortly – early indications are positive, with sustained growth in the quality and quantity of attendees. This is a view supported by exhibitors. Andy Carr, managing director, ROC, said "FM Expo 2000 provided the 'ultimate vehicle' for ROC to demonstrate its services as a market leader in the relocation industry".

Simon Parker, market director, says "FM 2000 has been a great success, with the move from our regular time slot in April being well received, as well as the move to a brand new state-of-art venue for 2001. The new co-locations will further enhance the profile of FM Expo and will widen its profile and appeal within the workplace management industry."

The move to London's ExCEL has gained exhibitor support, with 60 per cent of space already booked for the 2001 event. This will take place on 16-18 October. Further developments for next year's event are the events that ran alongside FM Expo this year, Securex and A/E/C Systems are returning, as well as Built Environment, AI 2001 and Safety, Health & Environment Solutions. These new shows will focus on the building products and services, architectural ironmongery and health and safety markets respectively and will ensure that a wider cross-section of specifiers for building products and services attend ExCEL in October 2001.
