OPD Cost Code receives Innovation of the Year award

At the recent Property Awards Dinner, the OPD Total Occupancy Cost Code picked up the award for Innovation of the Year. This prestigious award acknowledges that the Code is already raising professional standards in the UK and could become the international benchmark.
The judges praised OPD for recognising that total occupancy costs were a key focus. The Code establishes the full range of occupancy costs, whether revenue or capital, estate or facilities management. The judges also recognised that the Code "is indispensable for occupiers" – particularly in helping property managers have influence in the boardroom.
Christopher Hedley, Director of OPD, says: "I am delighted that the Code has won this award in addition to being endorsed by BCO, BIFM, IDRC, NACORE, PMA and the RICS. TOCC is now being used by 180 occupiers, as well as by many consultants and advisors. This is a real step forward towards the widespread acceptance of a common standard for measuring over £100 billion expenditure a year in the UK alone."
