HM Land Registry recently celebrated winning the top prize at this year's PricewaterhouseCoopers Best Government Agency Report & Accounts Awards.

Welcoming the award Chief Land Registrar, Peter Collis, said:

"I am delighted that the Land Registry has won this prestigious award. Communicating effectively with our customers and with wider audiences is central to the way in which we do business. This award is a testament to the high standards that we set for ourselves.

"Agencies like ourselves have a duty to ensure that we deliver the best possible standard of service to the public that we serve. This means being able to explain and account for our business activities in a clear, interesting and informative manner."

The judges cited the clear presentation of information, clarity of links between aims, objectives and future strategy and incorporation of results and performance measures as being particular strong points.

This was the tenth and last year that PricewaterhouseCoopers will be making this particular award. HM Land Registry were runners-up last year.
